Dr Azeema Adam appointed MMA Governor

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed Dr Azeema Adam as the Governor of central bank, Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).

The letter of appointment was presented to Dr Azeema at a ceremony held at the President’s Office this morning.

Dr Azeema joined MMA in May 1991, and until now served as Assistant Governor and Chief Economist, Monetary Policy, Research and Statistics at MMA. She holds a PhD in Economics and a Master’s Degree in International Development and Finance.
