Two dolphins stuck in lagoon in Maavah

Two dolphins have got stuck in the shallow water on the western side of Laamu Maavah.

Maavah Council said that dolphins have not been sighted in the lagoon ever before, but two dolphins seem to have entered the shallow water during high tide last night.

The council official said that the dolphins got stuck when the tide went down this morning.

Police said that the incident was reported at 8:30 a.m., and that it has been decided to wait for the tide to rise as the dolphins are too large to carry out to deep water.

The area will be monitored by police until high tide, which is expected at around 11:30 a.m.
