Criminal Court orders police to produce MP Hamid to court

Criminal Court has on Tuesday issued an order upon the police to produce Henveyru-south MP Hamid Abdul Gafoor to court under custody.

Police Media Official said the order requires the police to present MP Hamid to court at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday and that the police will do the necessary to execute the order.

MP Hamid is being sought by the court over alcohol and drugs charges taken up by the state following his arrest, along with Kaashidhoo MP Abdulla Jabir and several others, from Haa Dhaalu Hondaidhoo, an uninhabited island in the north, on 16 November 2012.
