Three arrested on suspicion of drug use, prostitution

Three individuals have been arrested on suspicion of using drugs and engaging in prostitution in Alifu Alifu Thoddoo.

Police said that the suspects, all Maldivians, are two women aged 26 and 27, and a man aged 33.

They were arrested in a house on 18 March during an operation by Police Intelligence and Alifu Alifu Rasdhoo Police Station.

The 27-year-old woman and the 33-year-old man were caught red-handed engaged in prostitution, and when the room was searched, police found drugs, equipment used in drug use, and money obtained through prostitution.

Police said that the 26-year-old woman was also arrested in the same room.

Rasdhoo Magistrate Court has given a detention period of 15 days for the three suspects.
