Two members of Elections Commission have been summoned by the police for questioning regarding an investigation against the commission’s former President Fuad Thaufeeg.
The police said that EC Member Ali Mohamed Manik was asked to attend the police station at 8:30 p.m., while EC Member Mohamed Faroog was asked to attend at 9:30 p.m.
Police have not revealed any details regarding this case.
Sources have told Sun Online that Manik and Faroog cooperated with the investigation and answered police officers’ questions.
Fuad exercised his right to silence when he was summoned by police last night.
Fuad is being investigated regarding a leaked audio of a phone conversation between him and former President Mohamed Nasheed about the Parliamentary Election.
The case was filed to police by Deputy Minister of Youth Abdulla Rifau.
