Parliament to hold next sitting after election

The next sitting of the parliament will be held after the 22 March parliamentary election, announced Speaker of the Parliament Abdulla Shahid before concluding the sitting today.

Closing today’s sitting, Speaker Shahid said the decision was made after discussion with the parties and that a date for the next sitting will be announced at a later date. Parliament convened today to approve a member to the Elections Commission.
