Police attacked with sharp object, injured

A Policeman on duty near Henveiru Carnival has been attacked using a sharp object, leaving him seriously injured.

Police said that the Policeman was attacked in the neck at around 12:30 last night.

Witnesses say that the Policeman was stabbed “deeply” in the back of his neck, and that there was a lot of blood.

Police said that the Policeman is being treated in ADK Hospital.

“His condition is serious,” Police Media Official said.

A Sun reporter near the Carnival said that Police had taken two people under arrest in this area, and that Police are checking the entire area.

This is the third attack on the Police this week. One Policeman had his wallet stolen, and a female officer was even sexually assaulted. Attacking Policeman, their family members and their property have become common lately.
