Saudi Crown Prince donates $1.5 million to Maldives

Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has said that Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has made a donation of $1.5 million for financing health projects in the Maldives.

In an interview with The Muslim Times, Dr Shaheem said that the crown prince also donated $1 million to the Maldives’ Ministry of Islamic Affairs for various projects.

He said that the locations of the 10 mosques, also pledged by Crown Prince Salman during his recent visit to the Maldives, will be announced soon.

Dr Shaheem left Male’ for Makkah on Saturday, and will attend a conference on Islamic solidarity tomorrow.

During discussions between Islamic Affairs Minister Dr Shaheem and Crown Prince Salman in Male’ earlier, Crown Prince Salman assured all-out support to the Maldives, in particular to its Islamic Affairs Ministry.
