Jamiyyathu Salaf has said that justice should not be used as a tool for individual gain, and that justice should be obtained within the limits of Islamic Shariah.
Salaf said this in a statement where they alleged MDP of harassing religion and religious scholars during their political activities.
President of Jamiyyathu Salaf Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohamed Ibrahim (Sheikh Abdulla) said today that while MDP activists claim that former President Mohamed Nasheed’s government was brought down by a coup, they fail to investigate the events of the transfer of power and instead use the incident as a shield to harass religion.
“In Islam, justice is part of Shariah which is sent from God. Every person’s individual gain is not justice. In Islam, harassing religious scholars, using offensive language about religion, slandering, these things are more dangerous than any physical harm inflicted on another person. Justice must be obtained within Islamic Shariah,” Abdulla said.
Salaf’s statement advises people to refrain from defaming others and their property and mocking people for their love of religion. Such acts create strife and hostility in the society, and this is forbidden in Islam.
