Saudi Crown Prince arrives in Maldives

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has arrived in the Maldives on an official visit.

He was greeted at the airport by President Yameen Abdul Gayoom. He will be welcomed in Male’ by Vice President Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed and ministers at a ceremony at Republic Square.

Discussions will be held during this visit regarding the $300 million soft loan facility requested by Maldives, as well as Saudi investments and partnerships in Maldives in energy, tourism, transport, and Islamic affairs.

Discussions about credit facilities aimed at settling Maldives’ budgetary requirements began last year during former President Dr Mohamed Waheed’s visit to Riyadh.
