Minister of External Affairs of India arrives in Maldives

Minister of External Affairs of India Salman Khurshid has arrived in the Maldives.

Khurshid was welcomed at Ibrahim Nasir International airport by High Commissioner of India in Maldives Rajeev Shahare, officials of the High Commission of India, and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives.

During his three-day visit, Khurshid will meet with President Yameen Abdul Gayoom and participate in the SAARC Council of Ministers Meeting at Bandos Island Resort.

Khurshid will also officially hand over a landing craft and lay the foundation stone for a building for the Ministry of Defence, provided by the government of India.

Foreign Ministers of all eight SAARC countries will arrive in the Maldives for the SAARC Council of Ministers Meeting.
