Voting begins at PPM Primaries

Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has kicked off voting across the country in its Primaries, to elect 25 candidates who will contest on the party's ticket in the Parliamentary Election scheduled for 22 March.

Voting will continue between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. today.

Citizens of Male’ will vote at ballot boxes placed at Dharubaaruge, Thaajuddin School, City Council, and the main hall of Maldives Development Alliance (MDA).

Primaries are being conducted for Hulhuhenveyru, Medhuhenveyru, Galholhu North, Mahchangolhi South, Mahchangolhi North, Maafannu West, Maafannu South, Dhuvaafaru, Inguraidhoo, Thulusdhoo, Fulidhoo, Thimarafushi, Dhaandhoo, Vilingili, Gemanafushi, Madaveli, Fares Maathoda, Fuvahmulah, Hithadhoo North, and Hithadhoo Medhu.

Voting in Primaries for six constituencies, Gan, Isdhoo, Maavah, Fuvahmulah North, Feydhoo, and Maduvvari, has been postponed to tomorrow.

PPM candidates will contest for 49 constituencies in the Parliamentary Election.

The party has forgone Primaries and granted tickets to 17 candidates, including 13 sitting MPs.
