Diver missing for over 24 hours, search still ongoing

Authorities are still searching for 40-year-old Mohamed Jameel, a local SCUBA diver who went missing after descending near the south-western corner of Vilimale’ on Tuesday morning.

Mohamed Jameel was reported missing to the police around 9:20 a.m. The local diver was accompanied by three other individuals during the dive.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) dive teams are carrying out a search and rescue operation that began soon after the incident was reported.

“MNDF Coast Guard is conducting the search. Police are investigating the case,” Police Media Official said today.
