HDC chairman Shareef dismissed

Ali Shareef, chairman of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), has been dismissed from his post.

A source from HDC said Shareef was dismissed sometime last week. “President’s Office dismissed Shareef and notified HDC last week,” the official said.

However, Shareef told Sun that he has not been notified of the dismissal. President’s Office was unavailable for comment at the time of press.

Shareef was appointed chairman of HDC, the government owned company mandated to undertake government housing projects across the country, on 2 May 2012.
