Z-DRP conducts blood donation program to mark anniversary

Z-DRP has started a blood donation camp to mark DRP’s anniversary.

Former president’s spokesman Mr. Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu) said today that the camp is aimed to help the people who are in need of blood to save their lives, and since the availability of blood in Ramadan will be very low, and also the need for blood has increased due to dengue outbreak.

“This is a social event and not a political stunt at all. Anybody can come and participate in the program,” said Mundhu.

The camp that has been initiated by the youth wing of DRP is being held in National Blood Transfusion Centre (NBTC), previously known as National Thalassemia Center.

The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Ghassan Maumoon, the younger son of the former president.

Mundhu said that their target is to donate the blood of at least 300 people. But he didn’t say how many people donated blood today. DRP’s sixth anniversary was marked on Thursday.
