Constance Halaveli wins leading luxury resort, Gili Lankanfushi the most romantic resort in Maldives Travel Awards 2013

Constance Halaveli Resort has won the Leading Luxury Resort, and Gili Lankanfushi Maldives has been recognized as the Most Romantic resort in the Maldives Travel Awards 2013 held by Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operator (MATATO) in Dharubaaruge on Saturday night.

The most awards in the Maldives Travel Awards 2013 was won by Taj Exotica Maldives, which include the Leading Food and Beverage Hotel, Leading Wellness and the Spa Resort award. The Leading Wellness and Spa Brand was won by Araamu Spa, and Olhuveli Beach and Spa won the Leading Beach Resort award.

Sri Lankan Airlines won the Leading International Airline to the Maldives and Hulhule’ Island Hotel won the leading City, Airport Hotel. Traders Hotel was recognized as the Leading Business Hotel and Paradise Island Resort won the Leading Conference and Meeting Resort award.

Soneva Fushi received the Leading Eco Resort Award and Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa won the Leading Diving Resort Award. Sun Diving School won the Leading Diving Center Award.

Chaayaa Island Dhoveli won the Leading Surf Resort and Paradise Island was selected as the resort with the Leading Activity and Water Sports Center. Voyages Maldives was recognized the Leading Live-aboard Brand and Dhaainkan’baa was hailed the Leading Live-aboard.

Lux Maldives won the Leading All-inclusive Resort award and Centara Grand Maldives was recognized as the Leading Family Resort in the Maldives. Niyama Maldives was selected the Leading Designer Resort, and Maafushi Whoteshell was awarded the Leading Guesthouse award.

Considered the most prestigious local travel award, the Maldives Travel Awards 2013 gave away recognitions in 23 categories. The award received a total of 1,160,000 votes in an online poll, which made up 40 percent of the points for each award. The remaining 60 percent were awarded by judges and panelists, reveals to MATATO.

At the Maldives Travel Awards 2013 held last night, Mohamed Umar Manik won the Life Time Achievement Award, the late Kandi Ahmed Ismail received the Special Recognition Award and Villa Hotels received the Most Supportive Resort Award.
