Every school to have a Police Liaison Officer

Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed has said that efforts are ongoing to have a Police Liaison Officer in the schools of all islands with Police Stations.

Speaking to Sun Online today, Waheed said that this would strengthen relations between schools and the police.

He said that this would simplify the process of reporting incidents to the police, and intervention by the police when necessary.

It will also be part of the responsibility of the Liaison Officers to analyse students’ discipline and provide advice on behalf of the police.

Waheed said that the Liaison Officers will be stationed at the Police Stations, but reachable by phone whenever required by the schools.
