The government has decided to transfer several responsibilities of the Ministry of Human Resources, Youth and Sports (MHRYS) to other offices. Responsibilities relating to foreigners now will go under Immigration Department, and employment market and employment agency issues will go under Economic Ministry.
This decision was made at the Cabinet meeting today, where it was highlighted that those functions of the MHRYS overlap with the mandate of other offices.
Following these changes, issuing of quota and work permits will be done by the Department of Immigration and Emigration.
Also, issuing of employment agency licenses, making regulations related to employment agencies, maintaining statistical records, doing research, and publishing information on job market will be done by the Ministry of Economic Development.
