Met Office issues Yellow Alert, warns of heavy rain

Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has issued a Yellow Alert, warning of torrential rain between Thaa and Seenu atolls from 03:45 p.m. to 07:45 p.m. today (Saturday).

Recent heavy rain has caused flooding in many parts of the country including the capital Male’. Islands in Gaafu Alifu atoll, namely Dhaandhoo, Gadhdhoo, Gemanafushi and Vilingili were badly hit by torrential rain on 1 December.
