Elderly man attacked with sharp object in Hoarafushi

An elderly man has been attacked with a sharp object and injured in Haa Alifu Hoarafushi late Wednesday night.

The police said that the victim is a 53-year-old man, and that the incident took place at around 3 a.m.

Sun has come to know that the victim is Abdul Baaree of Finihiyaage, Haa Alifu Hoarafushi.

Baaree is being treated at the hospital in Haa Alifu Dhidhdhoo.

The hospital said that Baaree was attacked in two places on the right side of his upper back, and that his condition is improving.

The police said that Baaree was attacked while he was on his way to the harbour to go fishing, by three masked individuals.

Three individuals were arrested in relation to this incident last night.
