Australian PM sends congratulatory letter to President Yameen

The new Prime Minister of Australia Tony Abbott has sent a congratulatory letter to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

The letter was presented to the President by the Australian High Commissioner to the Maldives Robyn Mudie, during a courtesy call at the President’s Office on Wednesday.

At the meeting, discussions were focused on the strong bilateral relations between the Maldives and Australia, and on ways to expand cooperation between the two countries.

President Yameen thanked the Australian government for its sincere support in the field of human resource development in the Maldives.
