A woman has been injured after jumping off from the third storey of a building in Maafannu.
Sun is aware that the woman is being treated for serious injuries in Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) after she jumped off from M. Luckystar around 3:15 a.m. last night.
Officials from IGMH were unavailable for comment at the time of press.
Describing the incident to Sun, the Bangladeshi security guard at the Alia motorcycle showroom nearby said that the young woman was in her underclothes when she fell and that there was a lot of blood on the street from her injuries. Sun reporters also observed blood on the street where the woman is said to have landed.
“Two Maldivian men had carried her to the hospital on a motorcycle. The girl was conscious when she was taken, but her condition was serious,” the security guard told Sun.
He said that moments after the woman was carried off to the hospital, a man suspected to be her husband had come down from the house and enquired if she was conscious. He then went back upstairs, come back down and left after announcing that he was going to IGMH, the security guard said.
A source from the house Lucky Star told Sun that the room from which the woman fell is occupied by a young couple and that arguments can be frequently heard from the room.
Police media official confirmed that they are investigating a case where a woman had jumped off from a house in Maafannu. The official did not provide details.
