Nilam appointed MD of Fenaka

Mohamed Nilam has been appointed the Managing Director (MD) of Fenaka Corporation Limited, the government-owned company that provides primary utilities services to the populace outside of the capital Male’.

Spokesperson at the President’s Office Ibrahim Muaz Ali said Nilam was appointed to the position on Thursday. Nilam is a council member of the ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).

“Nilam was appointed Fenaka Corporation MD on Thursday night,” Muaz said.

Nilam was the first MD of Fenaka Corporation when it was first established by Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik’s administration in in June 2012, but he was dismissed in July this year following allegations of corruption and undue use of influence.

On 18 August, President Waheed appointed Farooq Mohamed Hassan of Boduge, as the MD of Fenaka Corporation, who had remained until the new government came into power in mid November.
