Mohamed Anil appointed as Attorney General

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed lawyer Mohamed Anil as the Attorney General.

A ceremony was held at the President’s Office tonight for Anil to take his oath as Attorney General. The letter of appointment was presented to him by President Yameen.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Yameen said that the people appointed to the cabinet are capable in their respective fields.

“They are educated and capable in their respective fields. I have no doubt that they will sincerely work within the policies to facilitate the pledges made in our manifesto for the people of the Maldives,” he said.

He said that following the completion of making appointments to the cabinet tonight, a cabinet meeting will be held early next week.
