Political appointees at President

President Abdulla Yameen has said that the political appointees at the President’s Office have been dismissed from their posts.

Speaking to the media after a meeting of the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Council this evening, President Yameen said that the political appointees at the President’s Office were dismissed yesterday.

“We have decided that the political appointees even at the President’s Office shall not remain in service just now. The political posts at the President’s Office do not exist anymore,” he said.

President Yameen said that efforts are ongoing to change the administrative structure of the President’s Office, to implement PPM’s manifesto.
