Police make second public appeal to find Raajje TV arson suspect

Maldives Police Service has made a public appeal for the second time to find an individual suspected of setting fire to local television station RaajjeTV on 7 October.

The individual in question is 35-year-old Mohamed Meeaadh of H. Gasva, Male’. Police earlier published a public appeal on Wednesday seeking Mohamed Meeaad.

According to the police, Mohamed Meeaad has been arrested on 7 different occasions for assault, fraud and other offences.

Police have urged members of the public with information regarding Mohammed Meeaadh to contact the Maldives Police Service hotline 3322111, the emergency number at 119 or the Serious and Organized Crime Department at 9911099.

Police have so far arrested 7 individuals and one minor over the arson attack on Raajje TV. They include a 24-year-old, a 21-year-old, a 20-year-old , a 22-year-old individual, two 18 year olds and one minor, 17 years of age.
