Leader of Jumhooree Party (JP) Gasim Ibrahim has said that the decision, to not support any candidate in the second round of the presidential election, was based on past experience.
In an audio message given tonight via VTV, Gasim said that he will not assist any candidate in their efforts to become president.
“This is because the people who help them become president are often defamed and humiliated by their actions after they become president,” he said.
Gasim officially confirmed that JP’s council has decided that the party will not support any candidate in the second round.
Gasim thanked all citizens who voted for JP in the first round, and said that the people have the power, when they vote on Saturday, to decide who becomes president.
