Former MP Ali Azim has been released from house arrest, and the case against him for attacking security officers has been forwarded to the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The case against Azim states that he attacked and assaulted a security officer who tried to block him from entering the parliament hall to attend a parliament sitting on 26 October, after the Supreme Court had declared him disqualified as an MP.
The police said that this case was sent to PG Office on Monday.
Criminal Court gave a detention period of 15 days against Azim on 26 October.
He was kept in police custody for five days for the investigation, and was transferred to house arrest upon completion of the investigation.
