Police search for individual who stole money through ATM

The police have posted a video in search of an individual who withdrew MVR 5,000 from an ATM without the knowledge of the owner of the account.

The police said that the case was reported on 13 September, and that the video shows the suspect, wearing a pink shirt and grey shorts, withdrawing money from an account through an ATM at BML’s Majeedhee Magu branch.

The police have urged persons with information on the individual seen in the video to come forward and contact the police at the hotline at 3322111 or the Economic Crime Department at 9790048; and if outside Male’, to contact Maldives Police Service through the local Police Station or Council Office.

The police have assured that any individual who comes forward with information will be given all due protection, and thanked the public for their cooperation in this and other similar cases.
