Parliament calls for applications for 100 security officer posts

The parliament has made an announcement in search of 100 security officers, two Deputy Sergeant-at-Arms, and four Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms.

The parliament called for applications for the post of Sergeant-at-Arms on Friday, and the letter of appointment for this post was appointed to former MNDF First Lieutenant Mohamed Haleem today.

The parliament said that applicants for the post of security officer should have served MNDF at private rank, and successful candidates shall have a monthly salary of MVR 10,750, service allowance of MVR 3,500, and attendance allowance of MVR 100 per attendance.

Applicants for the post of Deputy Sergeant-at-Arms should fulfil the requirement of MNDF Warrant Officer Grade 2, and priority will be given to applicants with experience, said the parliament. The monthly salary for this post is MVR 20,000, while service allowance is MVR 3,500 and attendance allowance is MVR 100 per attendance.

For the post of Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms, applicants should have served as Sergeant at MNDF, and successful candidate will be given a monthly salary of MVR 15,950, service allowance of MVR 3,500 and attendance allowance of MVR 100 per attendance.

The deadline for submitting applications for these posts is 3:00 p.m. on Monday, 4 November.

Newly-appointed Sergeant-at-Arms at the parliament Haleem told Sun Online today that he will make efforts to ensure that security is maintained at the entire parliament building.

He assured that security officers will cooperate with the directions of the Parliament Speaker.

Article 4 (d) of the Parliament Regulation states that maintenance of security at the parliament hall, parliament compound, and all institutions operated under the parliament shall be carried out as decided by the Parliament Speaker.
