Three arrested smuggling alcohol to Male

Two foreigners and a local have been arrested for the illegal possession of a large quantity of alcohol bottles in Male’.

Police said the Police Drug Enforcement Department arrested a 41 year old local male and two 33 year old male foreigners from a boat docked in Male’ harbour around 7:25 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police said 48 bottles and 4 packets of alcohol were discovered.

The Drug Enforcement Department is investigating the case.
