MDP has said that a primary election to elect a candidate to contest in the by-election for Thimarafushi seat in the Parliament will be held tomorrow evening. The by-election will be held next month.
MDP Chief Spokesperson Imthiyaz Fahmee said that three candidates will compete in the MDP Thimarafushi by-election Primary.
The three candidates are former Thimarafushi MP Mohamed Mustafa, MDP Gaumee Majlis member and former State Minister Ahmed Shafeeg, and Abdul Rasheed Abdulla (Absy). The voting will take place between 4.00pm and 10.00pm tomorrow.
MDP said that the voting booth in Male’ will be placed at the women’s station at Raalhugan’du area, and the voting booth in Thimarafushi will be placed at the hut near Thimarafushi Council.
In addition, voting booths will be placed at Th. Guraidhoo All Taste and Th. Gaadhiffushi School.
MDP has decided against holding a primary for Kaashidhoo by-election which will take place on 14 April, as only one MDP member requested for the ticket to contest in this election.
