Perpetrators behind attack on High Commissioner

Maldives government has said that the perpetrators behind the attack on the car of the High Commissioner of India will be brought to justice.

President’s Office Media Secretary Masood Imad published a tweet condemning the attack and stating that the “perpetrator of this cowardly act will be swiftly brought to justice.”

The rear windshield of the Mercedes-Benz was smashed with a rock while parked in front of the Indian High Commission on Ameer Ahmed Magu, Male’ on Monday night.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Police said the attack was reported around 18:45 and promptly released a statement condemning the attack and assuring that the matter will be thoroughly investigated. They have urged the public to contact Maldives Police Service Hotline at 3322111 with any information on the individuals behind the attack.
