President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has appointed seven new State Ministers, including Ghassan Maumoon, the youngest son of former President Gayoom. They have been presented with letters of appointment today.
The new State Ministers are Gaumee Party’s Vice President Imad Solih of Everest, S. Feydhoo as State for Education, Jumhooree Party’s Council Member Fuad Gasim of H. Uligamuge as State for Fisheries and Agriculture, Maldives Reform Movement’s Council Member Ahmed Shameem of H. Marine View as State for Tourism, Arts and Culture, DRP’s Deputy Leader Ibrahim Shareef (Addu Shareef)’s daughter Maryam Mizna Shareef of H. Dhenoo as State for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Gaumee Party’s Secretary General Abdulla Ameen of Roazmaage, Gdh. Gaddhoo as State for Economic Development, Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s son Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon of Ma. Kin’bigasdhoshuge as State for Human Resources, Youth and Sports, Civil Society Coalition’s President Al-sheikh Mohamed Didi of In’gurumaage, S. Feydhoo as State for Islamic Affairs.
In the speech made by the President at the ceremony, he expressed confidence that these individuals will serve the country to the best of their abilities. He thanked them for accepting the posts of State Ministers.
