Maldivian Democratic Party parliamentary group member MP Ahmed Hamza has been elected to represent the parliament in the Judicial Services Commission (JSC).
Bileidhoo MP Ahmed Hamza was elected with 43 votes in favour and 27 against from the 71 MPs who participated in the vote, with majority votes from MDP and Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) MPs.
Jumhoory Party (JP) coalition and Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) coalition failed to secure a majority for their nomination Gemanafushi MP Ilham Ahmed, with 34 votes in favour and 39 votes against.
Today The Parliament has taken a major step towards reforming Judiciary. I shall do my best t achieve that noble goal.
