Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) has called upon State institutions to ensure that the right to vote is facilitated for all persons under the care of the State, for the 19th October presidential election.
In a statement released on Saturday, the State’s chief human rights body called on the Ministry of Gender, Family and Human Rights, the Maldives Police Service (MPS) and the Department of Penitentiary and Rehabilitation Services (DPRS), to “ensure the right [to vote] to all eligible voters under the care of the State.”
