Man suffers serious head injury in motorcycle accident in Fuvahmulah

An accident involving two speeding motorcycles in Fuvahmulah has left one man with a serious injury.

The victim in this accident, which took place this evening, is Faakih Ali, 18, Kandi, Fuvahmulah.

Fuvahmulah Atoll Hospital Manager Mohamed Ahmed told Sun Online that Faakih did not have any serious visible injuries on his body when he was taken to the hospital, except for a deep cut on his forehead.

“When we checked him, he did not have any serious visible injuries on his body. He had a serious cut on his forehead near the left brow. We suspected that there was internal bleeding. Then later he his nose started bleeding, and he started vomiting blood,” he said.

He said that Fakih has been transported on a helicopter by Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) to Addu Regional Hospital, and that efforts are ongoing to take him to Male’ as soon as possible.

Director of Hithadhoo Regional Hospital Shah Saeed said that Fakih will be taken to Male’ early morning.
