Kinbidhoo MP Moosa Zameer has been elected as the Deputy Leader of the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Parliamentary Group.
Speaking at a press conference this afternoon, Vice President of PPM Abdul Raheem Abdulla said that Zameer was elected to this post by the unanimous vote of the 17 members present at the party’s parliamentary group meeting held today.
Speaking at the press conference, Zameer said that the Parliamentary Group will meet once every week to discuss and make decisions on parliamentary issues.
He said that the parliament session which commenced today would be filled with challenges, as for the first time, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has majority in the parliament.
He said that MDP would pressure and create obstacles for the remaining groups including PPM during this session, but PPM will continue their efforts undeterred.
