Store in Aahaabaru robbed

A store named Sales Zone in northern harbour, Aahaabaru in Male’ was robbed last night.

Adam Shareef, owner of Sales Zone said that the robbers broke into the store through the roof and took goods and a large amount of money.

“They cut the tin sheets [on the roof] to get inside. They took money, cigarettes, Redbull and other goods,” Adam Shareef said.

He said that the police are on the scene and investigating the incident.

Police confirmed receiving a report of a store robbery in the harbour area last night. The case is being investigated, they said.

There has been a recent increase in robberies and vandalism in the country, with two mobile phone shops vandalized and two cars set on fire within the past week.
