Prepared to proceed according to court ruling, says PPM

The Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has said that they are prepared to accept and proceed according to the ruling on the case filed by Jumhooree Party (JP) to Supreme Court, requesting to annul the presidential election held on 7 September.

In response to a question posed by Sun Online during a press conference held yesterday, PPM Vice President Abdul Raheem Abdulla said, “The party is prepared to proceed according to the court ruling.”

He said that PPM also has several suspicions and doubts regarding the election, and that the party has intervened in the case filed by JP.

Responding to a question posed by Sun Online regarding forming a coalition, Abdul Raheem Abdulla said that both JP and Adhaalath Party had mentioned that they would enter into a coalition with PPM, and that this is being delayed because of the court case.

He said that PPM will hold several campaign activities in Fuvahmulah today, to mark the commencement of its campaign activities in the atolls.

Referring to recent rumours of PPM Spokesperson, Galolhu-South MP Ahmed Mahloof defecting to Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), Abdul Raheem Abdulla assured that Mahloof would not leave PPM.

He said that Mahloof is working with PPM even though he is not publicly participating in activities.
