President Dr Mohamed Waheed has today dismissed Sarangu Adam Maniku from the post of Special Envoy of the President.

Sarangu Adam Manik, who also sits in the Male’ City Council, defected to Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) soon after President Waheed lost the September 7th election.

Speaking to Sun today, Adam Manik said that he received his letter of dismissal this evening, where the President had thanked him for his services. The president also notified him earlier of his dismissal by SMS, he said.

Adam Manik accused First Lady Ilham Hussain of persuading President Waheed to dismiss him.
