IGMH Emergency Room vandalised

A group has caused damage to the Emergency Room in Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) last night.

An eyewitness told Sun Online that the glass on the Emergency Room door was broken by a young man and woman as they left the room.

“The IGMH guard obstructed them when they tried to exit, by refusing to open the door. Then they broke the glass. People waiting to consult doctors were scared as broken glass flew everywhere,” he said.

Another eyewitness said that the woman cut her hand while trying to break the glass.

By the time Sun Online’s reporters went to IGMH, the police had arrested the two people.

At the time, the woman’s mother was complaining and obstructing police efforts.

The police said that an incident in IGMH was reported last night, and confirmed that two people have been arrested.

The police media official said that damage was caused to the door of the hospital’s Emergency Room.

It has not yet been possible to get a comment from an official of IGMH regarding this incident.
