Police have today revealed a video showing two men in the act of stealing a fund box that was placed inside the main state hospital, Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), in a public appeal to identify the two suspects.
Police said that they are currently searching for the two men and that the theft was committed on the 31st of August, two days before the hospital authorities realized that it was missing. Money raised through the fund box was intended to build a new mosque inside the hospital.
The video shows a man acting as a look-out in the corridor of the casualty room, while the another man carefully lifts the fund box and carries it to the toilet, less than three feet away. The man is then seen exiting the toilet with the box covered in a black plastic bag and heading towards the hospital exit.
Police have asked the public to contact their hotline number 3322111 or Serious Organized Crime Department number 9911099, with any information about the identity or the whereabouts of the suspects.
Police have also assured that adequate protection will be provided to anyone who provides information regarding the case and has noted their appreciation of public support in such investigations.
