Parliament approves Dr. Latheef as CSC president

Parliament has today approved Civil Service Commission (CSC) member Dr. Mohamed Latheef as the Commission’s president.

Dr. Mohamed Latheef was approved unanimously with 60 votes and four abstentions.

Dr. Latheef's appointment as the Commission's president follows the removal the Commission's former president Mohamed Fahumy Hassan amidst allegation of sexual misconduct. However, the Supreme Court has put a hold on the taking of oath of the newly appointed CSC member Reenee Abdul Sattar, who was appointed to replace Mohamed Fahumy Hassan.
