Gayoom departs to four northern atolls for PPM campaign

President of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has departed to four atolls in the north, as part of the campaign for PPM Presidential Candidate Abdullah Yameen.

Gayoom departed by seaplane today and will first visit Raa Kinolhas.

PPM Spokesperson Ahmed Mahloof said that Gayoom will also visit Raa Dhuvaafaru, Raa Alifushi, Shaviyani Funadhoo, Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi and Haa Alifu Dhidhdhoo.

Gayoom is accompanied by Yameen and his running mate Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed in this visit, said Mahloof.

“President Maumoon will meet with supporters of PPM in those islands. We hope that this will be a very successful visit,” he said.

Gayoom also visited Addu and Fuvahmulah earlier, as part of the PPM campaign.
