The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has called for expression of interest for the development of a domestic airport in Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo.
The ministry said in an announcement today that it had been decided to also lease an island for resort development, to the party that wins the bid to develop the domestic airport in Kudahuvadhoo.
A meeting will be held at the ministry on 15 August to provide more information to parties that are interested in undertaking this project, the Tourism Ministry said in the announcement.
The ministry said that interested parties should submit Expression of Interest (EOI) for the development of the airport in Kudahuvadhoo and the development of a resort under the same project, before 25 August.
The government commissioned a project to develop an airport in Kudahuvadhoo to Airport Investment Company (AIM) in 2007. The company however failed to secure an investor for this project.
