Five islands handed over for resort development

The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has handed over five islands to be developed as resorts, out of the seven islands that were announced earlier.

The ministry said today that the Notification of Award Letter was presented today, after evaluation, to the parties that submitted the best bids for the seven islands.

The ministry said that Raa Fasmandhoo was given to Mohamed Shivaz Moosa, Noonu Kunnameli to Zuhudha Ali, Meemu Madifushi to Maldives Inflight Catering Private Limited, Raa Kudafushi to Pearl Prestige Private Limited, and Thaa Vanbadhi to Damak Ocean Heights Company Limited.

The parties that received the Notification of Award Letter would have to pay the acquisition cost to Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) within one month.
