Four arrested over theft from safe in Dharavandhoo power house

Police have arrested four men in relation to the recent robbery of a large sums of money from the safe held inside Baa Dharavandhoo power house.

Police revealed earlier that the robbery took place two nights ago and that a sum of MVR75,000 was stolen from the safe.

The ages of the four men have been revealed as 27, 21 and two 26 year olds. Police said that one of them was an employee of the power house.

The four men were arrested under a court warrant, around noon yesterday.

Police also said that another 23 year old man and a 16 year old minor were taken into custody from the scene of the arrest, for obstructing police duties and disobeying police orders.

Eydhafushi Police Station is currently investigating the cases.
