An Air India flight scheduled to fly from Trivandrum to Male’ Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA) this morning was delayed due to a fault in one of the flight’s tire.
Indian newspaper The Times of India reported that the flight carrying 43 passengers returned to the bay just before take off after the pilot noticed minor damage to the rear tire.
The flight was set to take off at 6:40 a.m. to Thiruvananthapuram, from where it was to end its journey in INIA at 10:50 Male’ time.
Times of India reports that all passengers are safe and that arrangements have been made to take them to their onward destination by another aircraft.
Meanwhile, the incident caused a three hour delay to a British Airways flight that arrived from London.
An official from INIA said that the delayed Air India flight from Trivandrum has been re-scheduled to land at 13:40 hours.
