Shiyan Shafeeq

Police has forwarded the case of Shiyan Shafeeq (Shiyalhey), 34, H. Hedheythundi to the Prosecutor General's Office for prosecution.

Shiyan Shafeeq has been accused of physically assaulting persons of the security forces, disturbing public peace, damaging private property, arson and masterminding activities to incite fear within the public.

Police said that Shiyan’s charges are based on activities he led on the 12th of March 2012, when he had disturbed the peace of the capital Male’, incited fear within the public and assaulted people and damaged property.

The case was forwarded to the Prosecutor General’s Office on the 14th July 2013.
